Pentair GRO-50EN Encapsulated RO Membrane is a 15" x 3" 1:1 HIGH RECOVERY RO membrane with a 50 gallons per day capacity of pure drinking water. Replaces discontinued GE Osmonics TFM-50EB and TFM-50EN membranes. It is encased in a polypropylene housing built with a permeate check-valve, control valve and flow control, that eliminates additional fittings and potential leaks. This RO membrane reduces many pollutants and contaminants such as lead, barium, cadmium, chromium, mercury, nitrate, nitrite, TDS, and more from your water. The membrane will fit many Reverse Osmosis systems that use standard TFM encapsulated membranes between 18 and 100 gallons per minute.* (If your system requires TFM-18EB membrane (which produces 18 gallons per day), this membrane will have identical dimensions and would fit.) GRO-50EN is a High Recovery, 1:1 model with external flow restrictor included. Older models had 2 versions, GE TFM-50EN membranes come without built-in flow restrictors. TFM-50EB, had built-in restrictors. Consult your RO system manual to see if you need one or already have it. Contact us if you need a restrictor and can't find one. GE Desal is manufactured with "Membrane-Separation Technology" which employs crossflow filtration where captured impurities on the membrane are constantly swept away by the concentrate stream. Crossflow filtration across the membrane then divides the flow into two outflow streams: the cleansed permeate feed and the concentrate or reject stream. This flow provides continuous cleaning that prolongs membrane life and reducing maintenance costs. GE and Pentair/Pentek Membranes are the brand of choice for most demanding applications.
