Water Softener Resin Media is used by residential and commercial water softeners to soften water. It can be regenerated with either potassium chloride, or sodium chloride salt. Certified to NSF/ANSI 61 standard.
How Water Softener Resin Media works:
Water Softener Media is an Acid Cation Exchange Resin media which is commonly used by domestic water softeners. Media has to be regenerated by salt to perform at specified parameters. Either potassium chloride or sodium chloride is used for regeneration, with potassium chloride requiring about 10% more salt for regeneration. Advantage of potassium chloried regeneration is that it does not contribute to a high sodium content in water, and the backwash can be safely discharged into a drain or into environment.
If sodium chloride is used for regeneration, backwash must be discharged into a sewer system. Also removes iron up to 4 ppm.
Can be regenerated at 8, 12 and 15 lbs per ft3 salt dosages.
