Ultrafiltration (UF) is an important purification technology used for the production of high-purity water. UF is effective for the removal of colloids, proteins, bacteria, viruses, parasites protozoa and pyrogens, (e.g., gram-negative bacterial endotoxins), organic and inorganic polymeric molecules and other organic molecules larger 0.2 micron and up to .01 Micron size and most other water contaminations known today. Ultrafiltration membranes remove pesticides and herbicides, as well as may reduce water hardness and salts.
Can be installed into standard 20x2.5 and 20x5 (20x4.5) Big Blue housings.
How 20" Ultrafiltration Membranes work
Filter Life: 1-3 years ( a low micron sediment filter, such as 5 micron sediment filter is strongly recommended before the UF membrane, or it may clog with larger sediment particles )
Micron rating: 0.2 micron
Filter Size: 20" x 2.5", membrane fits most standard 20x2.5 inch filter housings. May also fit some Big Blue 20x5 housings.
Usage: can be used in whole house, commercial and industrial applications where removal of biological contaminants such as bacteria is desired.
Water Flow Rate: up to 13 GPM (gallons per minute)
