Pitcher Water Filter Replacement Cartridge. A 5-stage filter, one micron filter cartridge with capacity of 2,000 gallons. Will fit Crystal Quest carafe water filters.
Filtration stages:
1. One micron sediment pre-filter. Removes rust, dirt, silt and other large non-dissolved particles.
2, 3. KDF55 and KDF85 reduce iron, mercury, copper, nickel, chromium and other dissolved metals, and harmful bacteria
4. The ion exchange resin reduces heavy metals such as lead, copper, aluminum, and water hardness.
5. Granulated activated carbon (GAC) reduces chlorine (99.9%), bad taste and odors, reduces pesticides and chemicals that are linked to cancer risks (benzene, TTHMs and toxaphene)
This cartridge will outperform any other cartridge currently on the market. Brita uses 3-stage cartridges, they also sell "white label" cartridges to stores like CVS which advertise 5 stages, but really have 3-stage filter as well: 1) sediment stage, 2) carbon stage, and 3) ion exchange stage. PUR offers 2- and 3-stage cartridges for their pitchers.
